Condition Report

A George III memorial pendant for king Edward IV, the ivory disc depicting a stylised royal cypher in macerated hair with sepia garter belt, inscribed "King Edward the 4ths hair found in a vault at Windsor in 1789 after being buried 306 years", within a gilt brass and glazed case. Diameter 7cms.

Purchasing information
    The lot is in good to fair overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. The ivory has warped and is curved, causing a crack along one side between the "the" and "4ths", "A" and "vault" and touching the scroll of the end of the R of the cypher. Slight water damage to the words, "king" and "being" are noticeably worn. Wear to the gilt finish. Possible cover deficient. Length does not include surmount loop/ Slight surface scratches to the glass.
