Condition Report

A cultured pearl, diamond and ruby turtle brooch. The semi-baroque cultured pearl body and brilliant-cut diamond shell, to the pave-set diamond limbs, the articulated tail and head with ruby eye detail. Estimated total diamond weight 2cts. Length 4cms. Weight 12.5gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Repair to one front leg, has been re-attached.
  • Diamond replacements to the front legs, noticeable with magnification, some overlapping.
  • The cultured pearl is off-round.
  • Cultured pearl is a creamy-white colour, with slight rose and greenish overtones.
  • Fairly good skin with some surface blemishes, to include pits.
  • Minor nacre damage.
  • Fairly good lustre.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
  • The diamonds are bright.
  • Rubies are bright with light abrasion, too small to test.
