Stephen joined Fellows in 1986 after five years in the Army and two years working for Vickers Defence Systems in Newcastle-upon-Tyne as a regional export sales manager. Stephen's interest in antiques came about when he met and married Jayne Fellows and joined the family business. Stephen has the responsibility of the day-to-day running of the firm and has a degree in French and Spanish which helps with enquiries from abroad! Fellows as a company is committed to supporting charities with their fund raising activities, and Stephen can often be found conduction auctions at charitable events.

He is also the Chair of the Vetting Committee for Jewellery and Watches at the NEC Antiques For Everyone fair.To find out more about Stephen's involvement with the Antiques For Everyone Fair at the NEC, please click on this link. He is also a Guardian at the Birmingham Assay Office, a Director of the Jewellery Quarter Marketing Initiative, and a Director of the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust.

Jayne has auctioneering firmly entrenched in her blood - she is the fifth generation of the Fellows family to work in the business. Having worked in every department in the business Jayne has a broad knowledge of every aspect of the company. Jayne took some time out of the business when in 1990 she gave birth to twin daughters; after a short break she came back into the business to help run it with Stephen. Jayne and Stephen now run Fellows after the untimely death of her father Tony in 1997.

Ben has spent the last six years honing his skills in operational management. During this time he has worked for a global accountancy firm in London before moving to Birmingham where he managed the city operating base for the UK’s largest student accommodation provider. He feels his varied background has prepared him for the vibrancy of life with Fellows! As Operations Manager, Ben supports Stephen in the day-to-day running of Fellows.

Ben is taking full advantage of his surroundings to develop his love of watches, is an unashamed film geek and follows the fluctuating fortunes of Gloucester Rugby Club.

 

Geoff Whitefield

Geoff has been in the trade for twenty years, working for Parkhouse the Jeweller for the last 14 years as an In-House Valuer and Insurance Manager – dealing with all aspects of pre and post loss valuation work. He also worked with Insurers and Adjusters to assist with claim validation, condition/damage reports along with advising on closest current equivalents. Geoff's qualifications include a Retail Jewellers Diploma, Retail Gemmology Diploma and he became a Registered Valuer approximately five years ago. His Institute of Registered Valuers number is 91805.

Geoff is a member of the Society of Jewellery Historians, a Fellow of the National Association of Goldsmiths and in 2009 was elected to sit on the Institute of Registered Valuers' Forum. Geoff is also a principal watch vetter for the NEC based Antiques for Everyone event held throughout the year. He also holds regular training days on Customised Watches and Authentication, as well as running workshops at the Annual Institute of Registered Valuers Conference held at Loughborough. Outside of work, Geoff's hobbies range from cooking and reading to sailing and shooting.

After studying Geography at Oxford University, Adrian has gained extensive experience in the retailing of watches and jewellery. He has worked for companies such as Cartier, Mappin and Webb, Van Cleef & Arpels Jewellers and for the last six and a half years he has been Boutique Manager for Breguet, one of the world’s most prestigious watch brands on Bond Street.

At Fellows Adrian will be responsible for our client development.

Outside of Fellows Adrian enjoys collecting vintage watches and shooting.

Heather has more than 16 years experience in the jewellery trade having worked for Geoffrey Richard of Birmingham and JJ Rudell of Harborne before joining Fellows & Sons in 1989.

Twenty two years later Heather is responsible for the Development of the Jewellery Department, dealing with valuations on a day to day basis and organising consignments of jewellery for all jewellery auctions.

Aside from her love of antiques and jewellery, Heather likes to get stuck into a spot of gardening when she gets the chance.

After graduating from Birmingham University with a BA (Hons) degree in the History of Art, Bryony gained her FGA diploma and Diamond Grading practical certificate from Gem-A. She then joined Christies where she worked on the bi-annual jewellery sales in London and Dubai and was part of the team that sold the famous Wittlesbach blue diamond. Bryony moved back to the Midlands in 2009 where she gained valuable luxury retail management experience working for Tiffany & Co. She has been with Fellows since 2010 and works in the Antique & Modern Jewellery department.

In her spare time, Bryony enjoys spending time with her family, art, hiking and creative writing.

 

Claire Marsh

Claire joined Fellows in 2004, having previously studied Gemmology at the School of Jewellery. She graduated with a HND in Gemmology and was also awarded an FGA & DGA qualification. As a Gemmologist and Diamond Grader, Claire's primary role at Fellows is to value and catalogue jewellery for the Antique & Modern, Secondhand Jewellery and Vintage Jewellery sales, as well as helping with photography, condition reports and preparing jewellery for viewing days. She recently passed her valuation exam with The National Association of Goldsmiths.

 

Georgina Kettle

Georgina joined Fellows in June 2008 after studying at the Birmingham School of Jewellery. She has a BA (Hons) Degree in Jewellery Design and Silversmithing and also a FGA & DGA Gemmology qualification. Georgina was awarded the Dough Morgan award for achieving the highest FGA examination in the Midlands Region. She is an active member of the Gem-A Midland Branch. She has recently become the Chairman of the Midland Gemmology Activities group and is looking forward to its development over the next few years.

As a Jewellery Specialist at Fellows, Georgina's role is to value, catalogue and condition report items within the Antique and Modern Jewellery, Vintage Jewellery, and Secondhand Jewellery auctions. She deals with customers on a daily basis – guiding them into consigning jewellery items and also buying items at auction.

In her spare time, Georgina enjoys snowboarding, reading and gardening.

 

Ben Randall

Ben has been dealing in antiques since the age of 8 through his family business. Within a few years his obsession for shiny things steered his interest towards silver and antique jewellery. Ben graduated from Southampton Solent University with a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts Valuation where he made friends with all the local tavern keepers. He went on to spend two years in France where he helped run an antiques shop specializing in French furniture, ceramics and English costume jewellery. It was here that he dealt with and collected French Grès du XXème siècle (stoneware and pottery of the 20th century, primarily with experimental glazes) and became known to many of the local antique dealers who recognize broken French when they hear it. Ben has since spent time in New York where he completed the Gemological Institute of America's Graduate Gemologist Program and learnt in-depth knowledge of cockroach and bedbug extermination procedure.

Ben's role at Fellows is to provide valuations, to contribute toward the cataloguing, sorting, ticketing and photographing the items for the Secondhand Jewellery sale, the Antique and Modern Jewellery sale, the Vintage Jewellery sale and occasionally the Silver sales, to help out on viewing evenings and to provide biscuits. Out of work, Ben's interests include drawing, American Pool, manga and anime.

 

Louise Ludlam

Louise joined the company in 2008 as the Jewellery Department administrator, she has since worked in the Silverware department before returning to the Jewellery department as a cataloguer and now heads up the Vintage Jewellery department.

Louise has a BA (Hons) degree in Silversmithing and Jewellery from Loughborough University, and has also worked in high end jewellery retail. Since working at Fellows, Louise has gained her DGA diamond grading qualification and is currently studying for her FGA gemology qualification.

In her spare time Louise enjoys playing badminton, travelling, visiting family and friends and loves all things chocolate!

Mary graduated from Cardiff University with a BA Hons degree in French and Spanish. She went on to study Gemmology at the Gemmological Association in London and obtained her FGA and DGA. She started her career working as a gemstone buyer and sorter for a manufacturing company, and then went on to work for a gemstone dealer. She also gained experience in retail working at Tiffany and Co in Old Bond Street. Mary originally joined the team at Fellows in 2002. She returned to the jewellery department in 2011 after starting a family and working as a Jewellery Consultant.

Outside of work Mary loves to travel and has a particular passion for Spain and Latin America. She also loves cooking and spending time with her family.

After completing her BA degree in Business and Tourism and then successfully completing a Diamond Grading course in Antwerp, Jenny followed her family tradition in jewellery working as a Manager in her Father's business for 10 years.

Jewellery has been in Jenny’s bloodline for many generations. Her great,great Grandfather Thomas Smith opened his manufacturing company "Smith And Pepper" here in the Jewellery Quarter where his children worked until the 1970’s. Their legacy has now be made into the Jewellery Museum in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter.

Jenny joined Fellows’ Secondhand Jewellery & Watches Department in 2011 to work as a Cataloguer.

Jenny has a keen interest in Art, Music, Theatre, Fine Wine and Dining.

Jennifer graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2007 with a BA Hons in Fine Art. Her enthusiasm for art and antiques drew her to London where she worked for Sotheby's and Bonhams, before relocating to Christie's as an Administrator in the Jewellery Department.

In 2011 Jennifer joined Fellows as a Junior Cataloguer in the Secondhand Jewellery & Watches department. She has completed the Foundation Course in Gemmology and is studying towards her Gemmology diploma.

Outside of Fellows Jennifer enjoys collecting Victorian jewellery, going to antique fairs and painting.

Leah graduated from Wolverhampton University in 2005 with a BA (Hons) degree in 3D Design. She then worked as a jeweller in residence for a year at Bilston Craft Gallery before having her own workshop for a year in the Jewellery Quarter. Leah also has ten years experience in retail and has a strong customer service background.

Leah joined Fellows in August 2009 and looks after the pawnbroker jewellery in our bi-weekly Secondhand Jewellery and Watches auctions. Her role includes preparing the jewellery for sale, liaising with our pawnbroker clients and working on the secondhand jewellery catalogue.

In her spare time, Leah takes an interest in contemporary jewellery and likes to visit craft exhibitions.

She also enjoys going to the gym and baking.

Heather graduated in 2009 with a BA (Hons) degree in Silversmithing & Jewellery Design. Whilst studying for her degree she gained experience working with secondhand & antique jewellery. Her interest in antique, costume, and military sweetheart jewellery developed during this time. She has also previously worked in sales, dealing with brands such as Links of London, Troll Beads and Pandora.

Heather joined Fellows to support the Secondhand Jewellery & Watches team. She assists in unpacking goods, ticketing, photographing and writing reports on the condition of valuables. She also helps out in the viewing room when required.

In her spare time, Heather has started to collect antiques and jewellery, having been influenced by her family, who love to collect jewellery, glassware and anything with a bit of history!

Buyisa Sutton

Buyisa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Art history and Social Anthropology from the University of Cape Town. Whilst completing her degree Buyisa worked as sales associate at MeMeMe Design Emporium, fashion assistant at Cape Town Fashion week and Design Indaba, and production assistant at Frieze Films and Michael Stevenson's fine art gallery.

After joining Fellows in 2010, she gained her Diamond Grading practical certificate from Gem-A and is currently pursuing her Gemmology diploma. She catalogues pawnbroker jewellery and also assists with the preparation of pre and post sales of the fortnightly auctions.

Outside of work Buyisa enjoys travelling, art and collecting gemstones.

Stephanie joined Fellows in January 2011 after working in the Jewellery Quarter for 6 years. In this time she worked for two jewellery shops and a watch retailer and in doing so gained experience in the valuation of watches and jewellery. Stephanie has also worked for Ernest Jones in Birmingham and has completed the practical side of the DGA at the school of jewellery. In the future Stephanie hopes to go further and complete the FGA.

Hannah has always had an interest in jewellery and fashion. After her completion of Jewellery & Product Design GCSE, she further graduated from the University of Leeds in 2010 with a BA HONS in Textile design. During her time at University, she worked for a bridal couture company and was involved in dress design and jewellery. Before joining the Fellows Team, Hannah spent several years gaining experience in the fashion industry; specialising in management and visual merchandising.

She is currently enrolling on the Gemmology Diploma course commencing in October 2012.

Her outside interests are visiting art museums, travelling, fashion and design.

Before joining Fellows, Eva was involved in the fashion industry and has gained experience working in customer services. However, she has always expressed a keen interest in art, jewellery and antiques. After being inspired by the film 'Something's Gotta Give', Eva decided to pursue her ideal job role by combining her interests of jewellery, antiques and customer services.

Eva's role at Fellows is to support the Secondhand Jewellery & Watches department on auction days as well as preparing the items before the auction. She also assists customers who come to view items from the Antique & Modern Jewellery, Silver and Watches auctions. Outside of work Eva loves to travel and also enjoys going to music concerts, art galleries and spending time with her family.

Laura has ten years experience in the retail industry, five of which was spent in the luxury watch market at Watches of Switzerland. She specialises in brands such as Cartier, Rolex, Omega, IWC, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Zenith, Breitling, Tag Heuer. Laura joined Fellows in October 2009 to value and catalogue for the Specialist Wrist & Pocket Watch auctions.

Conrad joined Fellows in April 2009 as a part time watch cataloguer whilst studying at university for a joint honours degree. He has now taken on a full time role to assist the watch team with cataloguing, writing condition reports and valuing.

Outside of Fellows Conrad enjoys restoring old cars and watches.

Before joining Fellows, Michael studied History at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland. He then went on to work for Wedgewood in Warsaw before moving to the UK. Michael has always been very interested in watches and has joined the Wrist & Pocket Watches department to assist with cataloguing and photographing for the quarterly sales.

In his spare time Michael loves to learn foreign languages and read about the history of Roman countries.

Steven graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and Cultural Studies from Canterbury Christchurch University College. He joined Fellows in September 2010 after working in fashion retail merchandising for the last 13 years. He has had a keen interest in wrist watches for as long as he can remember.

Outside work Steven has an interest in Art Deco ceramics, old cars and supporting Middlesbrough Football Club. In 2009 Steven completed the Plymouth –Dakar rally where he drove from the Midlands to Banjul in the Gambia in a car bought off e-bay for £100!

Sam has completed her JET Level one and Foundation Certificate in Gemmology, and has three years experience working as a retail sales consultant and visual merchandiser for Beaverbrooks the Jewellers. Sam started working at Fellows in the Jewellery Department as the Administrator, Sam has since joined the Wrist and Pocket Watches Department to assist with cataloguing and photographing the various auctions.

Sam has always loved jewellery and is drawn to anything that sparkles! In her spare time Sam is interested in drama and enjoys the theatre, she enjoys watching films and is learning Italian.

Cara graduated in 2011 with a BA (Hons) degree in History of Art. She then went on to work at Christie’s South Kensington as a Saleroom Assistant. She joined the Wrist and Pocket watch department at Fellows in 2012 as a Junior Cataloguer. She has always been interested in watches, and relishes the opportunity to broaden her knowledge.

Naomi graduated from Loughborough University with a BA (Hons) in Silversmithing & Jewellery. Naomi has previously worked as a studio assistant for sculptors and jewellery designers and joined Fellows in 2006 to complement her position as jeweller in residence at a local gallery.

Whilst at Fellows, Naomi has gained her DGA and worked through various positions in the jewellery and watch departments. Her current position is now a Senior Silver Specialist. Naomi particularly enjoys undertaking research projects and outside of Fellows her hobbies include travelling, all things Victorian and cooking a mean pie!

After completing an MA in Fine Art Valuation at Southampton Solent University, Alison began her career at an auction house in Nottingham before originally joining Fellows in 1999. During her time at Fellows, she gained experience in all areas, helping with the sales of silver, jewellery and furniture before going on to run the Furniture Department. In addition she completed her professional qualifications for RICS and trained as an auctioneer.

Alison left the company in 2003 to start a family. She now has two daughters, who take up all her spare time!

After gaining some experience working part time for an independent jewellery retailer over the past couple of years, Alison returned to Fellows in October 2010 to resume her career in the auction world and work alongside Naomi in the Silver Department.

Rachel is a creative individual and achieved a Merit at Art Foundation in 2011 before joining Fellows the following September. She has always been interested in the auctioneering industry and is now part of the Silver department acting as an administrator.

Outside of fellows Rachel enjoys drawing and painting, playing netball and socialising with friends with a good cocktail!

Kevin Jackson heads up the Furniture Department with 23 years experience in the trade. Kevin was originally interested in toys, but over the years his interests have expanded into other fields, and is experienced in dealing with: Glassware, Ceramics, Porcelain, Clocks, Pictures & Paintings.

Kevin is also known for his appearances on Bargain Hunt, Cash in the Attic, Flog It, House Call and his weekly show on Saga Radio.

Outside of work Kevin is interested in DIY, scuba diving, sport and fitness.

Following a History of Art degree at St. Andrews University, Mark began his auction house career in 1997. Having joined at Phillips in Edinburgh as a porter, he then ran the Carlisle valuation office before making the move to a firm of independent auctioneers in Cumbria. For seven years, Mark worked as a general valuer and cataloguer dealing with furniture, clocks, works of art, paintings, ceramics, silver, jewellery and collector’s items.

In 2005 Mark joined Bonhams as a Furniture specialist at their Chester office and made the move to Clocks and Works of Art two years later, valuing across the North West for sale, insurance and probate. In August 2011 he made the decision to join the Antiques & Fine Art team at Fellows and is relishing the prospect of valuing house contents across the Midlands.

Outside Fellows, Mark’s main passion is dancing Cuban salsa, and he has just begun DJing at a salsa club. He also enjoys hill walking, all things Italian, and cooking curry. Mark has learnt Italian and hopes to improve his Spanish on his return to Cuba!

Mick joined Fellows in 1996 to pursue his interest in antiques and toys. He assists with the valuing, cataloguing and photography in the Furniture Department.

Outside of Fellows Mick enjoys collecting old cars and spending time with his children.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys fishing and playing snooker.

Mary's background stems from the world of fashion, starting with completion of her design degree at the University of the Arts, London College of Fashion. From there she worked in the field of fashion PR for design and retail fashion companies. Returning from London, she has joined Fellows and is responsible for our marketing activities.

Mary is currently learning to horse ride, is a secret geek and loves all things techy!

Stephanie graduated from Coventry University in 2011 with a BA (Hons) in Advertising and Media. Whilst studying for her degree she has spent the last five years working in the hospitality industry and has also worked for a local radio station.

Stephanie joined the company in August 2011 and assists with the online marketing activity which has enabled her to combine her two passions for both social media and antique jewellery.

Outside of Fellows, Stephanie enjoys going to the theatre, reading a good book and cooking!

Stefanie graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA (Hons) in Mandarin Chinese and Management. Her international background has fuelled her passion for learning foreign languages. She joined Fellows in October 2011 after having lived and worked in Beijing the previous year. Speaking fluent German and Mandarin allows her to utilize her language abilities and communicate with our international customers.

Outside of work, Stefanie enjoys travelling and trying to cook Chinese food. She is very keen on the outdoors and among other things enjoys camping, skiing and kayaking.

Having attended Central St Martin’s for his foundation year in Art & Design, Tommy worked in the charity sector for 3 years before coming to Birmingham to study theology, specialising in theology of art and aesthetics.

Joining Fellows in August 2011, Tommy is part of the Marketing team, and assists with all marketing activities.

In his spare time Tommy enjoys collecting records and has a minor obsession with trainers…

With a HND (Dist) in Photography and over ten years experience in the photographic industry, five of which were spent photographing the collections for the Science Museum, London, Claire brings her commercial and product expertise to Fellows, doing what she enjoys most, lighting and photographing beautiful objects.

Aside from photography, Claire loves riding her vintage and modern motorcycles.

Hannah joined Fellows in February 2012 with over five years experience working in Finance for one of the largest law firms in the UK managing the firms complex clients.

Outside of work Hannah has a slight addiction to shopping, loves walking her dog, scuba diving and spending time with her family.

Wendy joined Fellows in 2003 with over 15 years experience as a Customer Relations Manager. She is the first point of contact for our customers, dealing with all aspects of Customer Relations, telephone bidding, invoices, and administration.

Liz has over 10 years’ professional experience within a secretarial and administrative capacity, having gained experience working for Mercedes-Benz in North Wales, a busy law firm in Chester and also a nationwide chain of specialist property consultants.

Liz has spent the last five years working as an Executive Assistant for a digital media agency in southern Spain, before returning to the Midlands where she has recently joined Fellows in the role of PA to the senior management team.

Outside of work, Liz enjoys music, contemporary literature, and travel.

Samantha joined Fellows in 2006 after completing NVQ levels 1 & 2 in customer service. She is in charge of logistical operations which involves dispatching goods out to our clients securely. Samantha also assists the Jewellery Department in preparation for the Secondhand Jewellery & Watches auctions and shows items to customers on viewing days for sales when required.

Outside of work Samantha enjoys swimming and music.
