Heuer
Founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer, the esteemed watch brand continues to be one of the most sought-after in all of horology. The idea of the brand was coined in Switzerland, where Edouard invented the oscillating pinion, which is still commonly used in the 21st century. this creation was patented in the mid-1880s.
During the early part of the 20th century, Heuer patented more creations, such as the "Time of trip" (dashboard chronograph). The company produced many innovative watches and timers, such as the "Autavia" dashboard timer, which assisted with aviation in the 1930s.
Heuer: Official Timekeeper of the Olympics
Due to the patenting of many desirable stopwatches, the company became the official timekeeper of many Olympic Games and sporting events. The brand went from strength to strength throughout the 21st century, establishing itself as a huge name in the world of horology.
Under Jack Heuer, the company was brought into the modern age of automatic timepieces, and thus the first automatic chronographs from the company were developed in the late 1960s. Following TAG Group's majority purchase of the company, the company was renamed TAG Heuer in 1985. Closely linked to many sporting events, TAG Heuer watches remain some of the most elegant timepieces in the world.
