Condition Report

A mid 20th century gem-set novelty brooch. Designed as a textured cat, with vari-shape sapphire, chrysoprase, ruby, garnet and split pearl detail. AF. Sapphire weight 2.53cts. Length 5cms. Weight 14.3gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • All whiskers to one side, some to other side deficient.

  • Ruby medium to dark purplish red, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Sapphire medium purplish blue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

    Sapphire estimated dimensions 8 x 6 x 4.6mm.

  • Seed pearls white, with cream to grey pearly lustre, in good to poor condition, several with severe damage to nacre.

  • Stamped 14K.
