2011 has bought a fantastic selection of items into Fellows’ auctions, from jewellery and watches to antiques and fine art. A few of the many highlights to feature this year were…

 

 

 

Lot 116 - a stunning Van Cleef & Arpels sapphire and diamond ring auctioned in January’s Antique & Modern Jewellery sale was the epitome of sophistication and reached an eventual hammer price of £27,000.

 

 

 

The auction of Wrist & Pocket Watches in April was another exciting sale containing over 500 lots. One particular timepiece that caught the eye of bidder’s was lot 86 - A Patek Phillippe bracelet watch, which sold for £4,000, £500 over its highest estimate. 

 

 

 

Lot 326 - a stylish Rolex Cosmograph Daytona bracelet watch reached the top end of its estimate in July when it sold for £40,000 in the Vintage & Modern Wrist Watch auction. 

 

 

 

One lot from September’s Antiques & Fine Art auction created bidding war between a gentleman in the saleroom and a telephone bidder. The fascinating item was an early 19th century porcelain Buddha figure featured as lot 63, which sold for £19,000 under the hammer. September also saw another interesting item entered into the Silver, Plated Ware, Coins and Medals auction. Lot 605 - A National Sporting Club Welter Weight Championship Challenge Belt worn by Jack Hood in 1926 sold for an impressive £36,000. 

 

 

 

Lot 297 - An early 20th century platinum single-stone ring stole the show in November’s Antique & Modern Jewellery auction and sold for a staggering £105,000.

 

 

 

December’s Vintage Jewellery & Accessories auction was one not to be missed. One of the main highlights was lot 498 - a 1950’s red paste and clear rhinestone pendant by Christian Dior which attracted plenty of attention and sold for £560.
