Fellows Win Arts & Business Sponsorship Award

Fellows Auctioneers and the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum (Culture Coventry) have been announced as winners of the Arts & Business Sponsorship award (below 10k) for their innovative use of the arts to reinforce branding and marketing activity.

Fellows sponsored the Herbert’s ‘Keeping up Appearances’ exhibition about women’s fashion through two world wars from September 2013 to January 2014. During that time, they received an unprecedented £35,000 worth of consignments, including a vintage gold Tiffany & Co. clutch bag from 1965 with an estimate of £7,000 - £9,000.

Jane Powell, Head of Marketing at Barclays and category judge for the award comments, “this shows that you really don’t have to be a major corporate or have a big investment in order to do some really exciting work that brings benefits to both sides.” The collaboration between the Herbert and Fellows shows just that.

The ceremony for the 35th Arts & Business Awards took place yesterday evening at the BFI Southbank in London. Fellows were nominated in both the A&B Sponsorship Award (below 10k) and the A&B New Sponsorship Award. We're very pleased to announce ourselves and the Herbert Museum & Art Gallery as successful winners in the Sponsorship below 10k category!

Stephen Whittaker, Managing Director of Fellows, states “the immense success of this initially humble project demonstrates just how powerful collaboration between the arts and business sectors can be at any scale. We are delighted to have won an award in collaboration with such a wonderful local museum, and are happy to embark on what we hope will be a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.”
