From Vintage Furs to Bohemian Magic - Fellows Auction of Vintage Jewellery & Accessories Set to Stun!

Fellows’ upcoming auction of Vintage Jewellery & Accessories on Monday 7th October is set to be an exciting one. Featuring just over a thousand lots of everything from antique Bohemian garnets to luxe vintage travel items, the sale is guaranteed to have something for even the most discerning vintage fans.

If you’re a fan of vintage then our upcoming auction of Vintage Jewellery & Accessories is definitely for you...

Local Pieces and Bohemian Magic

For those that are looking for vintage pieces with a bit of local history, James Fenton’s stunning Art Nouveau pendant and brooch set (lots 279 and 280, both £200 - £300), hallmarks for Birmingham, 1909, should do just the job. The vivid turquoise enamelling and abstract design would have made it the ultimate statement piece of its day. Similarly, lot 169 (£200 - £300) is an eye-catching vivid blue Victorian diamond ring that is nearly 120 years old, though it still hasn’t lost its magnetism.

Slightly further afield, we have a beautiful selection of antique Bohemian garnet and paste jewellery. Popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, garnets from this region are second to none in their sparkle, clarity and depth of colour. Lots 36 – 44 all maintain their rich lustre even after well over a hundred years.

First Class Travelling

The auction also offers an excellent selection of vintage pieces for those who like to travel in style. Featuring a removable jewellery box and dual combination locks, lot 953 is a beautiful deep burgundy leather vanity case by Must De Cartier. Like the perfume it is warm, rich and classy – perfect fur luxury travel.

A similarly-coloured vintage Etienne Aigner leather travel handbag (lot 956, £40 - £60) is also featured in the auction. Aigner is the perfect vintage designer for travel ware due to his affinity for compartmental storage. Featuring the Parisian-boutique design that built the brand, this lot is no different, with various leather document holders and a cased mounted travel clock all included.

Finally, we feature more recent luxury travel items in the auction – a Louis Vuitton President Classeur briefcase in their timeless monogram print canvas (lot 951, £400 - £600). In the early 20th century, Louis Vuitton’s famous advertising campaign once ran, “show me your luggage and I’ll tell you who you are” – there is no denying that the artisan workmanship that has gone into this says all there is to say.

Fur the Upcoming Seasons

If you’re not planning on catching any summer sun, now is the perfect time to grab some vintage fur to keep you warm in the cool autumn air. Fellows always has a stunning selection of vintage furs in its Vintage Jewellery & Accessories auction, and this one is no exception. Lot 987 (£80-£120) is a gorgeous sandy-coloured vintage fur coat, believed to be fox, in exceptional condition, while lot 990 (£60-£90) is believed to be vintage mink and silver fox crafted locally in Edgbaston. More modern coats include lot 985, a lemon Jaeger trench (an absolute steal with an estimate of £30 - £50) and a men’s classic Burberry trench (lot 1001, £40 - £60).
