Auction Results: Antique & Modern Jewellery

On Thursday 16th February Fellows’ Antique & Modern Jewellery auction took place with over 550 lots featuring in the sale.

Lot 228 – a striking diamond and ruby wreath and bow brooch caught the attention of many bidders. The piece had an estimated total diamond weight of 2.85cts and sold for £4,200 under the hammer.

 


Sapphires also proved to be very popular on the day. Lot 137 – a sapphire and diamond three-row bracelet had an auction estimate of £5,000 - £8,000. Its elegant design was appreciated by those in the saleroom and online, and had an eventual hammer price of £7,000. Lot 27 – a pair of 18ct gold sapphire and diamond ear pendants were also a firm favourite. Estimated at £160 – £260 these pear-shaped pendants sold for £500.

 


The sentimental and memorial items were also highly sought after in Thursday’s auction. Lot 379 – a late Victorian split pearl, diamond and blue enamel pendant, circa 1880 had an estimate of £180 - £220 and sold for almost double its highest estimate at £420.
