On Monday 28th May Fellows’ are holding an auction of Vintage Jewellery & Accessories which promises to placate the pining of today’s discerning fashionistas with some alluring designer garbs from throughout the 20th century.

With a three-fold increase from the sale in March, this auction has over 50 clothing lots, including a black suit jacket from one of Alexander McQueen’s last collections. In addition, there is a 1970’s Burberry Shetland tweed jacket, some distinctive Jean Muir items, a range of evening dresses from the 1920’s through to the 1980’s, and a selection of fur jackets, coats and stoles.

To compliment these items of clothing, we have a good range of designer handbags, including a rare 1920’s evening clutch bag from the expert Parisian gem-setters, Van Cleef & Arpels, decorated with rubies, emeralds and garnets, and a modern Gucci ‘G wave’ brown snakeskin shoulder bag.

Jewellery addicts will also be spoilt for choice by our extensive selection of ever-popular Victorian and sentimental jewellery. Also included are two key early 20th century items, which connoisseurs will find similarly compelling. The first is a plique-a-jour enamel pendant – the jewellery equivalent of a stained glass window – attributed to Heinrich Levinger with beautiful graduated green coloured enamel, which is in good condition for a piece of its age.

The other is a gold and foiled enamel pendant from the Arts and Crafts movement, which is accredited to James Cromar Watt. With stunning craftsmanship, it keenly demonstrates that his notoriety in this field was well deserved.
