In 2018 we sold one of our largest ever collections of Blue John, a semi-precious mineral found only in Derbyshire, and used to create various objects, including bowls and jewellery. The extensive Blue John collection included brilliantly designed bowls and pedestal urns, along with stunning raw specimens. Other popular items sold in recent Antiques & Collectables sales include Italian Lenci fine pottery figures and oil paintings, including two oil paintings on canvas by Zocchi (Confidences and All the World) which reached £11,228.80 (all fees included).
These auctions usually include Georgian, Victorian and modern silver hollowware (e.g. teapots, sugar bowls, food covers and cake stands) and flatware (e.g. canteens of cutlery, fish knives and forks, carving sets and loose cutlery), as well as an interesting selection of coins and military medals. We recently sold a silver-gilt & enamel Freedom casket by Walker & Hall and a 1920's large silver chalice by Alywn Carr.
