For those born in the month of April the diamond is the traditional birthstone. And if your planning to surprise a loved one with the sentimental gift on their special day, you will certainly be spoilt for choice...

On Thursday 12th April Fellows shall be holding their auction of Antique & Modern Jewellery featuring over 500 lots - with no scarcity of dazzling diamonds.

Arguably the most striking item in this month's sale is lot 273 - a diamond single-stone ring, weighing 4.84cts and accompanied by a GIA report stating that the stone is G colour and VS2 clarity. Estimated at £30,000 - £50,000, this beautiful gem is elegance personified.

If you're looking for something that reflects the change in season lot 332 couldn't be more fitting. The mid 20th century diamond and nephrite jade floral brooch is designed as a blooming flower with foliate surround and has an auction estimate of £1,000 - £1,500.

Or perhaps you are in search of a gift that is truly unique? Lot 531 - a diamond and rock crystal fob watch may just be the perfect present. Featuring a square-shape white dial with black Arabic numerals and suspended from a fancy-link chain, this timeless piece has an estimate of £2,000 - £2,500.

The auction will take place at 10am. You can view all the diamond items in this sale here.
