Lot Description
An early 20th century diamond and gem set butterfly brooch, comprising a split pearl body with ruby eyes and rose cut diamond set wings with sapphire and ruby detail. Weight of brooch - 8.12 grams. Length of brooch - 2.4cms, Width - 3.5cms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in fair condition. There is heavy discolouration and tarnishing to the back of the brooch that may need attention. The diamond points are a little dull due to abrasion and inclusions. The sapphires are well matched and the the rubies and sapphires are in good condition, the pin is bent of straight and may need attention, the safety chain has been added at a later date and doesn't appear original. All of the claws would need to be checked.
