Lot Description

George IV pair of Irish silver teaspoons with shell bowls, hallmarked Joshua Buckton Dublin 1824, together with a similar William IV English silver example and two pairs of early nineteenth century silver sugar nips. Gross weight 3.8 ozt (119 grams).

The spoons and sugar nips display general scratches, marks, tarnishing and wear commensurate with the age and use. The teaspoons and one pair of sugar nips have bright cut engraving and each have a engraved crest or initial engraving. Overall the hallmarks are clear and legible. The bright cut pair of sugar nips are hallmarked Thomas Dicks London 1809 and the plain pair are hallmarked London 1827 and display heavier tarnishing and abrasion marks.
