Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver four piece tea service of oval form with octagonally lobed panels, ebonised handles and finials and raised above four acanthus leaf mounted paw feet. Hallmarked Albert Henry Thompson Sheffield 1918. Gross weight 51.3 ozt (1598 grams).

The tea service display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous small dints and bumps. Much heavier dents visible to the hot water pot, including three of the feet compressed into the body and the piece therefore wobbles. The sugar also wobbles a little. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible.
