Lot Description

An early George III silver open salt of cauldron form stranding on three shell mounted hoof feet, hallmarked David Hennell I, London 1760. Together with a pair of small Victorian open salts with beaded lobed edge and conforming spoons, hallmarked Birmingham 1882, a further singular silver open salt hallmarked London 1896 and an associated silver apostle teaspoon. Gross weight 5.3 ozt (166 grams). (4).

The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dents and bumps. File mark and acid test to the spoon and one of the pair of the open salts.
