A George IV 9ct gold enamel mourning brooch. The vacant panel, within a foliate border and black enamel 'In Memory Of' surround, to the reverse with personal inscription 'J.F.Mansel Ob 22 Nov 1829 at 22'. Length 3.4cms. Weight 15.6gms.

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age and general wear. Replacement pin, tip slightly bent. Vacant panel is hinged to the reverse. Later added suspension ring. Wear to the gilt surfaces. Enamel in good condition with some surface nicks. Possible replacement glazed panels.
