Lot Description

A late Victorian silver footed bowl, the circular form with applied rim above an embossed band of alternating gadroon and leaf pattern and a similarly decorated circular foot, hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., Sheffield 1900, height measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm). Together with a twin-handled plain silver sugar bowl, panel sided to a footed base, hallmarked Maxfield & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1919. Weight 13.4 ozt (416.7 grams). (2).

Both items appear in fairly good overall condition, displaying general expected wear, tarnishing, surface marks and scratches. Residues of polish. Interior of the sugar bowl shows a slight impression form one of the handles. Hallmarks and maker's marks clear and legible with some slight rubbing. Footed bowl also with impressed maker's name to underside.
