Lot Description

A matched pair of late Victorian silver mounted photograph frames, the oblong shaped form decorated in openwork with squirrels and pheasants amidst foliate scrolls, on replacement mahogany easel reverse and replacement bevelled glass. Hallmarked Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co, Birmingham 1899 and Abraham Meyer Blanckensee, Birmingham 1900, registered no. 341728. Height measuring 10 1/4 inches (26 cm).

The photograph frames display general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Vacant cartouche. A little rubbing to the decoration with some loss of definition, one frame more worn that the others. Replacement pins. One frame has a few splits, small solder repair and a few areas where the silver has worn through to  holes. Hallmarks clear and legible.
