Lot Description

An Edwardian silver caster, of typical plain form with removable pierced cover and stepped circular base, hallmarked Charles Wilkes, Birmingham 1902, height measuring 6 2/8 inches (16 cm). Together with a pair of 1920's silver bud vases, each with a filled base and scalloped rim, hallmarked Chester 1924, a 1930's silver open salt (missing liner), plus a pepper pot. Gross weighable silver 6 ozt (186.7 grams).

Total lot weight: No

In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor compression to the foot of the caster causing it to tilt slightly and wobble when standing, minor bumps to the body and removable cover also. The bud vases have filled bases, the loading has dropped in one so it does not stand flat and can be seen beneath the base. Noticeable tarnish spot/area to the interior of the open salt, missing glass liner. The pepper pot is marked for Dublin import 1932, further marked 925. Majority of hallmarks clear and legible.
