Lot Description

An unusual late 19th century gilt mantel clock, the case of tower form, with bevel glazed circular hinged door enclosing dial with applied white enamelled markers, black Arabic numerals and shaped hands, the hood further decorated with cast portraits of females to sides and conforming glazed door to back, the pierced squared column cast with figures of winged infants,the spreading base with conforming decoration and further detailed with mounts to corners of scroll and organic form, the whole raised upon shaped bracket feet, the twin train movement striking upon a coiled spring gong, impressed G.V 2342 48, 22" (56cm) high.
