Lot Description

A nineteenth century Russian silver jug, the oval bellied form to a conforming footed base, with applied foliate scroll rim above fluted detail to the main body and foliate mounted curved handle. Russian assay marks for St.Petersburg with Master mark A.T over 1840, further marked G. Okerblom in script and tentatively attributed to Gustav Akerblom (1835-1872), Height including handle 6 inches (15.2 cm), weight 10.85 ozt (337.5 grams).

Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.

With some quite heavy tarnishing throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish.

A couple of minor surface dints to main body. Also a knock to foot rim.

Residues of gilding to interior.

Hallmarks located to underside of base and are clearly legible. City mark further struck to other parts.
