Full Lot Description
An impressive Regency silver epergne by Matthew Boulton, the concave square base with engraved crest to one side and central bud motif raised on foliate stem, within four corner paw feet rising to acanthus detailed supports and foliage pierced circular ring holding central cut glass dish, with four detachable branches leading to acanthus and scroll pierced bowls, also detachable, and each holding a smaller cut glass dish. Hallmarked Matthew Boulton Plate Co., Birmingham 1820. Height to silver rim 26.5cm, maximum height with glass bowl 30.5cm, diameter of glass dish 30cm, maximum length across branches 54cm. Approximate silver weight 64ozt (1992.2g).

Condition Report
- Appears in good overall condition.
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.
- Some minor dints.
- Residues of polish visible to some areas.
- Wobbles slightly on its feet.
- All detachable parts fit or screw together securely.
- Hallmarks located to rim of central pierced ring and part marks to bud motif.
- All detachable bowls are hallmarked and numbered with corresponding numbers to the branches and base of epergne; three of the branches are struck with the maker's mark, the branch numbered 1 does not appear to have a maker's mark but this might have rubbed.
- There is an additional small glass dish in the lot so there are five in total; they do not all match exactly with slight variations in design. Not all original.
- All glass dishes displaying some minor nibbles with a large chip to one of the smaller dishes.
