Full Lot Description
A Dutch silver box with scrolled and engraved bands to hinged lid, stamped with lion passant and possible date mark for 1855. Together with a circular example with maple leaf design, and a rectangular box with enamelled peacock and foliage decoration. Diameter of Dutch box 5.5cm, gross overall weight 3ozt (92g). (3).

Condition Report
- Dutch example is in fair condition, showing some general surfaces scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Sides show some thick polish residue.
- Definition to engraved detail is rubbed and slightly lost, to some areas on hinged lid and base of body.
- Interior appears uneven and slightly bashed.
- Detail to maple leaf box is very worn, and border is only visible on close inspection.
- Border to enamelled box shows a notable dint, with breakage to enamel.
- Both maple leaf and enamelled boxes are darkly tarnished to areas, the maple leaf example especially to interior of hinged lid.
- Both hinged lids are in good working order.
- Both boxes are unmarked. Leaf example tests around 82% Ag, and enamelled example around 97% Ag. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
