Full Lot Description
Two George V silver sauce boats, both of typical low-bellied form, the first with applied gadroon rim, foliate capped double scroll handle and raised on three stepped hoof feet, hallmarked Carrington & Co., London 1916, length 15.5cm; the second of plainer design on pad feet, hallmarked Martin Hall & Co Ltd., Sheffield 1917. Total weight 11.68ozt (363.5g).

Condition Report
- Both displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use
- Both with a little blackening and residues of dried polish to some areas, joins, and crevices
- 1916 sauce boat:
- of good gauge and appears in fairly good overall condition
- some slightly heavier scratched marks to inside belly
- one foot is slightly upturned but it stands firm on its feet without wobbling
- hallmarks located under the belly, with some surface rubbing but all still clearly legible
- also with stamped maker's name and address
- 1917 sauce boat:
- several dints to the body
- some splits around the rim
- slight compression and knocks to the feet
- handle appears at a slight angle to the body
- hallmarks located under the belly, clear and legible with some light surface rubbing
- also numbered 972H
