Condition Report
- Displaying general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing in keeping with the age
- Some pitting to the inside and underside of the bowl and surface appears a little uneven
- Crudely scratched 1586 to underside of bowl, and further crude scratches/possible writing near to the edge to one side of handle join
- Heavier wear and nicks around the edges of the bowl and the metal feels a little thinner
- Some loss of definition to the stem, probably once faceted
- Decoration to the seal finial is worn, traces of gilding remain, plain nimbus with some heavier pitting marks; visible V-join
- Hallmarks bottom struck to reverse with leopard head struck to the inner bowl; these are rubbed and worn in parts but still legible and have faired well given the age of the spoon
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition
