A mid-Victorian small silver pendant vesta case, the narrow rectangular form engraved all over with foliate scrolls, with striking edge to one side, and hinge opening top, hallmarked Edward Smith, Birmingham 1856, measuring 3.3cm by 1.5cm; together with two Edwardian silver vesta cases, both similarly engraved with foliate scrolls, the smaller lobed example with initialled shield cartouche, hallmarked William Hutton & Sons Ltd., Birmingham 1902, the larger case with central monogram, hallmarked A & J Zimmerman Ltd., Birmingham 1903. Total gross weight 2.35ozt (73.2g). (3).
