Full Lot Description
A George III silver christening mug, the slightly tapering cylindrical form with two reeded bands and centrally engraved monogram, and angular scroll handle. Hallmarked London 1801, maker's mark partly rubbed, probably Charles Chesterman II. Height 8.5cm, weight 5.02ozt (156.2g).

Condition Report
- Appears in fairly good overall condition
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age
- A little blackening and dried polish residues to some areas and crevices
- Some minor surface and edge nicks
- Very slight bash to the foot rim
- Hallmarks located below the rim to one side of the handle, clear and legible with minimal rubbing; maker's mark rubbed heavily on one side, most likely reads 'C C' in an oval punch for Charles Chesterman II
- Marked 1801 to the base in blue ink/marker pen
