Full Lot Description
A collection of 19th century silver dessert spoons and forks in various Vine patterns, to include Trailing Vine, Chased and Pierced Vine and Grape Vine patterns. Various dates and makers, one fork William IV, hallmarked Jonathan Hayne, London 1830, the rest Victorian, mainly London hallmarks (one Sheffield), maker's marks include Chawner & Co (George William Adams), Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater, Elizabeth Eaton, William Eaton, and Martin, Hall & Co. Condition Report
- All the pieces are generally of good gauge and appear in fairly good overall condition
- Displaying some general light surface wear, marks, scratches, and tarnishing
- Minor surface wear and rubbing to the decoration but overall remains crisp and bright with only slight loss of detail to some areas
- With a little blackening and residues to some areas and crevices
- Spoon bowls have generally faired well
- Fork tines with some heavier wear and dints to the tips and a couple are a little bent
- Some hallmark punches are blackened, and marks a little rubbed, but mainly clear and legible
