A mid-20th century silver silent butler's ashtray with turned wooden handle, the rounded rectangular bowl with shell thumb-piece to a hinged lid with engraved armorial, and raised on four stepped hoof feet. Hallmarked Ellis & Co., Birmingham 1958. Length including handle 15.5cm, gross weight 4.5ozt (140g).
