Full Lot Description
A late Victorian silver vesta case of typical form, bright-cut engraved all over with clover leaves and monogram to the front, hallmarked Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1894; together with two early 20th century examples, both engraved with foliate scrolls, hallmarked Birmingham 1904 and 1911, with maker's marks for George Houston and Arthur Barnett & Co Ltd. Gross weight 1.97ozt (61.3g). (3).

Condition Report
- Two vestas measure approx. 4.5cm x 3.5cm; other approx. 4cm x 3cm
- All three displaying general surface wear, marks, and scratches, commensurate with their age and use
- Some general tarnishing with a little blackening and residues to some areas and crevices
- Some minor surface dints/bruises and nicks, especially to the 1894 and 1911 cases
- Hinged lids all functioning well and all close securely; the 1911 case has a slight gap when closed
- All hallmarks clear and legible
