Full Lot Description
A collection of seven 19th century silver condiment spoons, mainly in variations of King’s and Hourglass patterns, to include three George IV/William IV Scottish examples by Robert Gray & Son, hallmarked Glasgow 1825, 1832 and 1837, a George IV Irish spoon by Samuel Neville, Dublin 1828, plus another example hallmarked Thomas Sewell I, Newcastle 1874, and a pair of George III spoons by James Ede & Alexander Hewat, hallmarked London 1808, some with crest or initial engravings. Condition Report
- All spoons displaying some general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing, commensurate with their age and use
- With some minor surface nicks/pitting marks to some of the bowls but they have generally faired well and retained shape
- Traces of gilding to some bowls
- Hallmarks rubbed in parts and some punches a little blackened, but mostly clear and legible
