Full Lot Description
A late Victorian silver aide-memoire by Sampson Mordan, of rounded rectangular form, decorated in the manner of Kate Greenaway with engraved scenes typically depicting children playing in the countryside, and opening to a lined interior with compartments. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co., London 1891. Measuring 10.5cm by 7cm, gross weight 4.34ozt (135g).

Condition Report
- Gross weight is inclusive of all materials
- Appears in fairly good overall condition
- Displaying some general light surface wear, marks, and scratches, commensurate with age and use
- Slightly heavier wear around edges and corners with some minor surface nicks/dints
- Some general light tarnishing but the engraved decoration remains bright and retains much of the detail
- Also with an engraved monogram to the front
- Traces of gilding to some areas
- Hinge and clasp in good working order and the case closes neatly and securely
- Interior lining with some surface marks and stains; notepad section is now detached and damaged as the holder for the pencil is broken; a small pencil is present, metal not tested but believed to be base metal
- Hallmark punches blackened and a little rubbing/distortion to some of the marks, but all still clearly legible
