Some surface scratches/ wear, minor discolouration in keeping with general age and use.
Minor fissure to metal to the outer of the brooch.
Brooch may also be worn as a pendant - length (including bail) 4.1cm.
Bail is open, may require attention.
Bail is a possible later addition to the brooch.
Brooch electronically tests as approximately 8ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
Fellows does not guarantee the standard of gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
Garnets with few minor nibbles, few minor nicks, mostly to facet edges.
One pear-shape garnet with shallow nick to point, extending to the underside of the stone.
Minor degradation to the foil on the garnets.
