If you’re looking for some stunning pieces of jewellery just before Christmas, Fellows’ upcoming Jewellery sale on Thursday 16th November features multiple beautiful items, including a caterpillar club brooch. The brooch is Lot 11.

The caterpillar design has red gem eyes, with Sgt. M. Skubiszewski engraved to the reverse, its length is 1.9cms and its weight is 1gm.

Caterpillar club brooches are given out informally to people whose lives have been saved by the use of a parachute in emergency situations. The caterpillar club was formed in 1922, and individuals of all nationalities are eligible. Parachute users when bailing out of a disabled aircraft are eligible for a caterpillar club brooch.

Lot 574 is a 9ct gold ‘motor vehicle’ charm. It is designed an old fashioned automobile, with chauffeur and couple in the back seats. This charm also has hallmarks for London, 1973. The length of this charm is 2.6cms, and its weight is 6.9gms. The motor vehicle charm is estimated at £80-£120.
