Condition Report

An early 20th century platinum diamond brooch. Designed as two vari-cut diamond lines, with similarly-set diamond cross highlights. Estimated total diamond weight 2cts. Length 6.5cms. Weight 7.3gms.

  • Overall condition good. Scratches and minor dents in keeping with general wear.
  • Possible gem replacements.
  • Diamonds are a mix of brilliant, old and single-cuts.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
  • Diamonds have few, small inclusions, with few surface reaching feathers and small nicks.

  • Width 6mms.
  • With safety chain.
  • Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
