One of the candlesticks is in very good condition. It has some surface scratches to the whole, and several areas of tarnish to the decoration. The candlestick stands slightly unsteadily as the base is dented. The hallmark on the edge of the base is badly rubbed but the hallamark on the underside of the base is still clearly legible. The base of the candlestick is stamped 'Sorley Silversmiths to H.M. The King Glasgow'. he other candlestick is at fault. Again there are surface scratches, dints, and small dents to the whole. There is a build-up of wax and polish on the inside of the sconce. The shaft of the candlestick is completely broken. The underside of the base is very scuffed. There are areas of tarnish in the decoration. The hallmarks are both clearly legible, as is the sponsor's mark, which is the same as above. oth candlesticks are made of filled silver.
