A pair of George lll entree dishes and covers with plated stands - the plain rectangular dishes with gadroon rims and gadroon decoration to the lids with detachable leaf and mask decorated handles. The plated stands with two scrolling acanthus decorated handles and pierced inner plates all supported on bun style feet. London 1819. Maker William Burwash. Both the dishes and the bases engraved with the crest of a griffin's head arising from a ducal coronet below the Scottish motto TENAX PROPOSITI [Tr. Tenacious of purpose]. Weight 118.8ozt (3694gms). Width of base 15ins (39cms).

Purchasing information-
Overall in good condition, the wear is in keeping with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing, the hallmarks and armorial engraving are a little rubbed but clearly legible. The wooden mounts to the base of the feet, do show wear and deterioration.
