Condition Report

An early 20th century sauce boat of classic form, frilled edges, turned feet with scroll handle, hallmarked Birmingham 1909. A white metal hinged circular box stamped '800' possibly German, decorated with ribbon and floral swag terminating in a beaded rim base. An Edwardian hinged oval box, material interior, embossed cherub heads with turned feet, hallmarked Birmingham 1906. Together with a 1930's pedestal dish, pierced rim, hallmarked Mappin & Webb, Birmingham 1933. (4).

    Sauce boat has general wear and tear with surface tarnishing, the frilled edge decoration has some tearing to the silver, the handle has a number of deeper scratches, the base is scuffed with general pitting and couple of small dints, the back left leg join has become visible within the bowl, this may be due to outside pressure or heat, the hallmarks are located to the rear of the boat and appear slightly rubbed. White metal hinged circular box with surface wear and tear, tarnishing located around the rim and detailed areas, a number of larger scratches to the base, hinge has broken off lid comes free, still able to close and secure lid to the box, the interior is clean with minimal wear, some of the detail to the swag decoration has become worn but overall OK condition, the hallmarks are worn and difficult to read, located to the base. Edwardian hinged oval box general surface wear and tear with a number of dents, one large dent to the left side, the silver is very thin which has resulted in the extent of the damage, the hinge is working and the box closes securely with a blue velvet interior still in place, the hallmarks are located to the base and appear rubbed/worn. 1930's pedestal dish, surface scratches in keeping with general wear and tear, all over surface tarnishing, the pierced decorative rim has a slight bend opposite from where the hallmarks are located, the circular foot is a little bent out of shape, hallmarks are clearly visible.
