Condition Report

A late 19th century conch shell cameo brooch, circa 1880, the cameo depicting a winged figure and maiden in high relief with vacant glazed panel to the hinged reverse, within a scrolling surmount. AF. Length 7cms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good to fair. Light scratches, scuffs and bruising can be seen to the cameo. A large fracture is easily visible to the cameo, running down the center of the carving. Several other fine fractures can also be seen. The fractures show moderate yellowish staining. The setting appears secure. The glass panel and material to the vacant back panel appear original. The mount shows wear to the metal gilding and general discolouration.
