A late 19th century gold garnet brooch, the oval-shape cabochon foil-back garnet collet, within a circular shape foil-back garnet stepped panel. Length 3.6cms. Weight 10.3gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear and age, there is a file and acid mark to the reverse. The pin is a later base metal replacement. The garnet are well matched with a dark to medium brownish-red and fairly good clarity showing typical inclusions.
