Condition Report

An early 20th century 9ct gold conch pearl and diamond bar brooch. The irregularly-shaped conch pearl and old-cut diamond foliate motif to the plain bar, together with a presentation case. Length of brooch 5.2cms. Weight of brooch 2.6gms.

Purchasing information
    The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Areas of discolouration to reverse. Estimated diamond weight 0.10ct. The diamond appears bright with small, scattered inclusions. Diamond too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades within the mount. The conch pearl is a medium pink hue fading to white toward the tips and slightly yellow at the tip. The conch pearl has a fine surface reaching crack, discoloured. Dimensions 7.8 by 6mms. Box is unassociated to the brooch. Box with discoloured gilt presentation plaque "To Malcolm Inglis, As a Token of Love & Esteem, From G. Mc. Crie".
