A George III silver sugar basket.

Condition Report

A George III silver sugar basket, the oval form with later floral embossing, initialled cartouche, with beaded rim, swing handle and standing on a conforming oval foot. Hallmarked London 1786, the maker probably Thomas Chawner. Height measuring 3 3/4 inches (9 cm), weight 5.3 ozt (166 grams).

Purchasing information
    The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Solder repair to a tear in the rim. Rubbing with loss of definition. Minor dints and bumps and would benefit from a clean and polish. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
