Condition Report

A mid Victorian gold citrine snake brooch, circa 1860. Comprising two oval-shape citrines, within a foliate engraved surround, with snake detail. Length 6.8cms. Weight 22gms. With fitted case.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and scratches in keeping with age. Evidence of repair to the suspension loop joint of the pendent panel - join may be weak. Replacement brooch pin. Pendent panel may be detached. Wear to the gilt surface and some areas of discolouration. Citrines well matched. Approximate dimensions 22 by 19 by 13.3mms, and 22 by 15 by 9.3mms. Yellowish-orange with brown hues, moderate colour saturation. Good clarity with typical inclusions.
