A plique-a-jour enamel and gem-set butterfly brooch. The emerald and diamond body, to the plique-a-jour enamel, ruby and diamond detail wings. Length 3.9cms. Weight 6.3gms.

Purchasing information-
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The diamonds are fairly bright, and well matched. Profuse inclusions can be seen to some with the naked eye. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The emerald has a cloudy medium green colour with profuse inclusions, some of which are surface reaching. The rubies are well matched for colour with a dark slightly purplish red and typical to profuse inclusions, one is heavily damaged and would require replacement. Stamped 750. The US prohibits the importation of items containing rubies or jadeite originating in Burma. For your convenience we have applied this notice to lots which contain rubies or jadeite originating in Burma, or those of indeterminate origin.
