A mid 19th century garnet locket.

Condition Report

A mid 19th century garnet locket, the stylised palmette with floral motif, suspended from a tapered surmount and pave-set with circular-shape garnets throughout, to the oval-shape glazed locket reverse. One garnet deficient. Length 6.9cms.

Purchasing information
    The lot is in good to fair overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. One larger garnet deficient to edge of palmette design. Possible replacement gems. Some gems possibly red paste, setting and size prevent accurate analysis. General dirt. Moderate discolouration to reverse. Bevelled glass with two small, shallow chips. Photograph to inside extremely faded. Length includes surmount loop (covered to both sides with gems. Length excluding surmount 5.5cms.
