Condition Report

Two paste bead necklaces, to include a triple-strand necklace with hand clasp, together with a single-strand necklace. Lengths 41.5 and 98cms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear in keeping with general wear. First with composite clasp, the hand clasp and end caps date from the late 19th century, from different pieces, with later safety chain and jump rings. Wear to the gilt surface and light indentations to the hand clasp. End caps dented and fractured, with glue repairs visible. Second also with composite clasp, terminal beads date from the late 19th century, with later clasp and jump rings. Bead terminals with evidence of repair/alteration and glue residue. Other elements with some green staining and wear to the yellow metal surfaces. Glass beads in fair to good condition with some nicks. Some wear/discolouration to the strings, we would recommend restringing.
