Condition Report

A late 19th century 9ct gold garnet necklace, designed as a graduated series of circular-shape garnets, suspending circular-shape garnet alternate trefoils and single-stone drops, to the connecting knife-edge bars and fancy-link chain. Length 35cms. Weight 7gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Garnets fairly well matched. Wear to the gilt surfaces. Evidence of repair to some of the chain links. Evidence of repair to the reverse of one of the settings. One replacement garnet with more of a pinkish-red hue and a chip to the girdle. Garnets orangish-red to red, slight variations in hue, moderate to deep colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions.
