Condition Report

A George III silver-gilt twin handled sugar basin, the main body of bulbous form, embossed and chased with floral, foliate and scroll motifs surrounding two vacant cartouche and raised above a spreading circular foot with shaped scrolled rim, the figurative capped twin handles of 'c' scroll form. Hallmarked London 1818, maker's mark 'IB'. Maximum length measures 8 inches (20.3 cm), weight 16.51 ozt (513.5 grams).

Purchasing information
    Basin displays general wear, surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Gilding is very worn in places and there are numerous deep scratches and dark spotting marks to the base of the interior. Various other deeper and more visible scratches and some small surface dints to the main body. There are some creases in the metal around the short stem. Also remnants of polish throughout. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still legible.
