Condition Report

BREITLING - a gentleman's Navitmer 806 chronograph wrist watch. Numbered 1064649. Signed manual wind movement. Black dial with baton hour markers, subsidiary recorder dials to three, six and nine. Slide rule bezel, stainless steel case fitted to an unsigned black leather strap with unsigned stainless steel pin buckle. 41mm. Box and papers. The Navitimer is the model that really made BreitlingÆs name and cemented their relationship with aviation. Created in partnership with AOPO (Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association) and adopted as their official watch the first generation were released in the early 1950s with the model name but without Breitling on the dial. The later second generation 806 Navitimer saw the introduction of the notched bezel that is still in use today and the change in colour of the sub-dials from black to silver. This example features the classic hand wound Venus 178 movement with original box and papers from 1968.
